I was the musician, way back in June/July 05, who sat on this thing and was written up in the Napa Sentinal for it. John and I got to be friends that weekend too. I was up there playing the High Sierra Music Festival - depending on how long these posts can be, maybe I can reprint the actual article and blog texts that came of all this nonsense last year.
meantime: I blogged it at Tribe.net, and the Sentinal article is still archived. Here are two links about my sitting on this freaky little fettish up on highway 101.
If I remember right, I maybe posted stuff at my own music blog too, I have to check that: www.michaelmcnevin.com
My toilet photos aren't on my own site, I have to keep it family friendly there, but I have several pictures from that glorious day, which I will now attempt post here.
Some more 'backside background':
I was the second person ever signing that 'guest book' Farmer John had put together for the pitstop. As people started seeing, and sitting on his roadside john, Farmer John's "john journal" was created over the July 4th weekend, 2005. I think the toilet had been there for a month prior though, getting honks and laughs.
I played the High Sierra Music Fest that weekend, saw it on the way up to the festival, couldn't resist, did a Uturn. John sat on his tractor watching me scope it out. Then he waved me over to the tractor, we chatted, and then we crossed the highway for a photo shoot. After the festival, I stopped by again and sat in his barn with him and had a beer, he's a really great guy.
Anyway, enjoy the pictures!
Nice to see the toilet chronicles revived here on a dedicated site!
